Flower from my garden.

Every time I looked in their eyes,

all I saw was a distorted image of mine.

Room without windows swallowed me every night,

all I could hear were the echoes of my cries.

My mirror broke into pieces,

so I believed everything they said,

burnt myself with the fire they gave.

One day I followed them into the water,

and cracked the ice.

I saw myself after a long time,

by my own eyes.

My tears rolled into the ice,

because now I knew,

what I had missed all this time,

a reflection so divine.

It was their poison green and dark,

that seeped through the cracks of my wall.

I died every night,

but I died like the phoenix burning in the sky.

My map was lost,

so I believed everything they said,

got drunk with the poison they gave.

One day I followed them into the water,

and cracked the ice.

I saw myself after a long time,

by my own eyes.

My tears rolled into the ice,

because now I knew,

what I had missed all this time,

a reflection so divine.

I broke the invisible strings.

Winter breeze swirled on my body,

and dew drops brushed my bare feet,

me and my mirror felt alive,

because now we knew,

what we had missed all this time,

a reflection so divine.

Tears rolled into the ice,

because now I knew,

what I had missed all this time,

my reflection flawed and divine.

This song is about self realization. It’s about how sometimes we start measuring our capabilities using the yardsticks of other people. We break our own mirrors and judge ourselves from the lens of others people.

It’s important to mend our mirrors , to mend our self esteem else we will end up being the puppets of other’s opinion and hurt ourselves.

The day of self realization is heartbreaking but beautiful and divine.

Hope you will find this poem relatable.

Thank you.
