The book “The God Of small Things ” by Arundhati Roy inspired me to write this poem . Well the book is much more than what I wrote in this poem , “Who should be loved , and how . And how much ” these lines and the love laws inspired me to write this poem . Yes the love laws do exist in our society so I decided to write a poem about the girl who breaks all boundaries just to meet her lover because she knows her love is hard but it’s pure and divine .
Moored on the banks of the river , was the boat for the secret ride to her lover. When the moon intoxicated the sky , and the fragrance of jasmine hovered with pride , She rolled her boat in the river , for the secret ride to her lover . Dangling lamp in the hut burnt every night , her only guide in the river dark and serpentine , so it burnt every night to keep her love alive . Behind her back the trees whispered and the owls chuckled , but the night veiled her , as she rowed the boat to her lover . He was the boy in the yellow woods , She was the flame yellow and bright . He was the raindrops in the ambush of leaves , She was the sun smiling bright and white. Their love was hard but she knew it was divine , So she tip toed every night , and rowed her boat in the river , for the secret ride to her lover .
Love has got no boundaries and it will always find it’s way to seep through the cracks of the wall created by our society and this love should be nurtured and protected.
